Lorenzo takes MotoGP win in Aragon

Jorge Lorenzo (photo by MotoGP)Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo took a marvellous victory at the Gran Premio Movistar de Aragon, at the 800th premier class GP,

and taking his first win of the 2014 season. NGM Forward Racings Aleix Espargaro took second with Ducati’s Cal Crutchlow in third.

In treacherous weather conditions with riders having to swap bikes three quarters of the way through, LCR Honda’s Stefan Bradl crossed the finish line in fourth with the Tech3 team of Bradley Smith and Pol Espargaro behind. GO&FUN Honda Gresini’s Alvaro Bautista took seventh. Hiroshi Aoyama took eighth while Nicky Hayden and Scott Redding completed the top ten.

In a race full of crashes saw most riders including Andrea Dovizioso, Andrea Iannone, Dani Pedrosa and Marc Marquez all endured crashes. Yamaha rider Valentino Rossi crashed out the Italian was deemed ok but was sent to a local hospital for further checks.
