Team BMR top the times at the official BTCC media day test

The twice BTCC champion set a best time of 1:10.249 beating new Team BMR team mate Colin Turkington by 0.006s. It looks like the two championship rivals from 2014 will resume their battle in 2015 but now as team mates in the BMR VW CCs.

Next up was Aiden Moffat and Adam Morgan in their Mercedes A-Class’s. While we have got used to seeing Morgan up the front of the field this is Moffat’s best showing to date and shows signs that he could be one to watch in 2015. In fifth and sixth were the two new MG team mates; Jack Goff ahead of former champion Jordan. Hunter Abbott impressed in seventh at a circuit which has been one of the Audi A4’s weakest in the past.

Warren Scott took eighth, showing BMR have improved as a team, Aron Smith had technical issues and so barely comleted any laps otherwise all four BMR cars may have been in the top ten. Martin Depper was an excellent eighth for Eurotech, another driver higher than might have been expected. Tenth was Sam Tordoff, perhaps lower than he was hoping for in his GardX BMW. Dave Newsham was in eleventh, showing Power Maxed racing mean business after a season of running near the rear of the field in 2014.

The Yuasa Honda team unveiled their new Civic but technical issues limited their running. Matt Neal still managed the twelve fastest time.

Full times are available on TSL
