Her debut season in the championship had been going well in a brand new Maserarti Granturismo GT4 shared with Marcus Hoggarth. They’ve already taken a class win in what was intended to be a learning season.

The season started with a top ten finish in Gt4 as they took eighth in race two. They then headed to Rockingham, the circuit which suited the car the least but despite this they took a seventh and a fourth.

The championship then headed for Oulton Park, a good circuit for the car and a favourite for Abbie. This showed with a brilliant second in race two although a brake issue also saw their first dnf of the season in race one.

Silverstone was next and Abbie and the team had an eventful weekend which eventually saw them take a sixth place finish despite running higher during the race. It was still a good result as Marcus Hoggarth had been put in hospital on the eve of the race after an allergic reaction to something he ate.

Most recently the duo headed to Spa in Belgium where they took fourth only narrowly missing out on another podium and a trophy.

But now their season could be over as the championship is about to head to two of Abbie’s strong circuits; Snetterton and Donington.

Abbie recently wrote this message on social media;

“So, just to keep you all updated, here’s where I’m at with the rest of the season.

Currently the Maserati will not be out for the last two rounds of the year due to a shortfall in my budget. I am working hard every day to try and raise the needed funds but the situation at present is that Spa was my last race.

It’s a shame that the only Maserati racing in the UK is to sit out the end of the season when we’re getting stronger and stronger with every race, and more than capable of a top 3 position in the championship at the end of the year – we’re currently 2nd in Pro/Am…not bad for a new car, new championship and new drivers.

Packages start as little as £1,000 and have loads of benefits and extras.

If anyone is interested in becoming a sponsor, knows of any companies that may be interested or has any ideas, please get in touch, I’d love to hear from you and let’s finish this season off properly!”
