Jason Plato was again fastest as the second BTCC Practice session took place here at Oulton Park in Cheshire.
With the session taking place in bright sunshine, this time he was only 3 tenths of a second from the Pirtek MG6 of Andrew Jordan who continues to shine this weekend. Andy Priaulx was third in his IHG BMW and seems to be enjoying his return to the picturesque park circuit. Tom Ingram continues his strong start to the weekend with fourth this time but her is only just over 4 tenths of a second off Plato’s time so he is actually closer to the front in terms of times than he was last session.
Fifth was Jack Goff’s MG who again couldn’t match his team mates pace although at 0.468 off the fastest time of Plato he was only around a tenth off Jordan.
Plato’s team mate’s Turkington and Smith are next up looking quick but seemingly not able to find the tiny bit of time they need to be right up with Jason Plato. Their team boss, Warren Scott wasn’t close to his drivers down in nineteenth spot.
Neal beat Shedden this time in the battle between the works Honda Civic Type R drivers with Neal in eighth ahead of Shedden in tenth. Sandwiched between them is Cicely racing’s Adam Morgan, back in the top ten this session.
Martin Depper and Jeff Smith were eleventh and twelfth, just missing out on the top ten and an excellent result for both of them. Power Maxed Dave Newsham was thirteenth with his team mate Cook missing out on the top ten this time and ending up sixteenth. Sam Tordoff and Rob Collard complete the top fifteen with the team mates unable to come close to Andy Priaulx in the sister car.
Kieran Gallagher went out of the session in a cloud of smoke as something failed on his car before he had chance to set a lap time. Alex Martin also failed to set a time in his Ford Focus.
