Red Bull racing lead the F1 pack during FP2, with Sebastian Vettle taking top position at Suzuka.

Second practice was much closer with the top ten being separated by slightly more than a second.

The MG KX Momentum team headed first practice with Jason Plato leading his team mate Sam Tordoff in a one-two. Only half a second behind was Gordon Shedden in his Honda Yuasa Racing Civic.
