Having led the morning practice session Dani Pedrosa remained on top in the second free practice at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia. Pedrosa’s time of 2’00.55 was half a second quicker than fellow Spaniard and team-mate Marc Marquez.
On Thursday Marquez was been given a one point penalty on his license, following his slight collision with Pedrosa at Aragon which resulted in the rear wheel speed sensor cable being broken. Also Honda has lost their constructors championships points that were scored by Marquez who went onto win the race last time out. Third fastest was Monster Yamaha Tech3 rider Cal Crutchlow.
Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi took forth with GO&FUN Honda Gresini’s Alvaro Bautista just behind in fifth. Taking sixth was Rossi’s team-mate Jorge Lorenzo. LCR Honda Stefan Bradl set the seventh fastest time with Ducati’s Nicky Hayden and Andrea Dovizioso taking eighth and ninth. And completing the top ten, Monster Yamaha Tech3’s Bradley Smith.
