Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo led today’s free practice at the Tissot Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island ahead of GO&FUN Honda Gresini’s Alvaro Bautista and Repsol Honda’s Dani Pedrosa.
Valentino Rossi set the fourth fastest time on his Yamaha machine, in fifth Monster Yamaha Tech3’s Cal Crutchlow. After suffering a crash earlier on championship leader Marc Marquez took sixth place, following on was Tech3’s Bradley Smith. Randy De Puniet managed to beat his team-mate for the first time in awhile and will be hoping to do so in Sunday’s race. Completing the top ten was Ducati duo Nicky Hayden and Andrea Dovizioso.
