World Champion Marc Marquez will start from pole position for the Tissot Australian Grand Prix at the Phillip Island circuit. With Ducati’s Cal Crutchlow in second and Yamaha Jorge Lorenzo in third.
Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo led the way as free practice got underway at Phillip island with Aleix Espargaro in second with World Champion Marc Marquez in third.
Before the race began it was announced that the race has been shortened from 27 laps to just 19 after issues with the Bridgestones tyres on the newly-resurfaced circuit.
