Marquez draws nearer to title after taking MotoGP Pole

 

Marc Marquez (photo by MotoGP)Repsol Honda rider Marc Marquez got one more step closer to becoming the youngest MotoGP World Champion after taking pole position at the final round of the season in Valencia.




The 20 year old set a new lap record with a time of 1’30.237 to lead title rival Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo and team-mate Dani Pedrosa.

Leading the second row is Valentino Rossi on his Yamaha, the Italian announced on Thursday that he will be parting from long-term crew chief Jeremy Burgess.

Burgess said “he was not expecting it whatsoever” Burgess has been there all the way to see Rossi win 80 races and seven world titles in the premier class.

Monster Yamaha Tech3 team of Cal Crutchlow and Bradley Smith will start from fifth and sixth on the grid while GO&FUN Honda Gresini’s Alvaro Bautista will start from seventh, In eighth LCR Honda rider Stefan Bradl .
