World Champion Marquez leads MotoGP test

Marc Marquez  (photo by Motogp)Repsol Honda’s Marc Marquez carried on his fine form from last season which saw him beecome the youngest rider to become World Champion to lead the first MotoGP official test in Sepang,

the Spaniard set a time of 2.00’268 to lead Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi and Marquez’s team-mate Dani Pedrosa. Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo set the fourth fastest time on the opening day while Honda Gresini’s Alvaro Bautista and LCR Honda’s Stefan Bradl completed the top six. 

All bikes this year will run the spec ECU hardware but factory options will be free to use their own software, in seventh was Aleix Espargaro with Pramac Racings Andrea Iannone taking eighth. The Tech3 Yamaha team of Pol Espargaro and Bradley Smith rounded out the top ten.     By Laura Turner
