Repsol Honda rider Marc Marquez stormed to yet another pole position with a time of 1’38.120 to blast the pole lap record at Jerez circuit in Spain.
Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo qualified second with Marque’z Repsol Honda team-mate Dani Pedrosa just behind in third.
Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi took fourth with NGM Forward Racings Aleix Espargaro not far off the pace in fifth, with Ducati rider Andrea Dovizioso completing the second row.
LCR Honda’s Stefan Bradl will start form seventh place. It was a good day for the Monster Tech3 Yamaha team with both riders, Pol Espargaro and Bradley Smith eighth and ninth respectively. The top ten was completed by Alvaro Bautista on his GO&FUN Honda machine. By Laura Turner
