Triumphant Marquez wins in Le Mans

Marc Marquez (photo by MotoGP)Current MotoGP World Champion Marc Marquez took yet another triumphant victory at the Monster Energy Grand Prix de France.

The Spaniard extends his lead in the Championship standings to 125 points. Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi looked set to take the win but had to settle for second place, after being passed by Marquez. GO&FUN Honda Gresini’s Alvaro Bautista took third. 

After qualifying in second it was a good finish for rookie Pol Espargaro, who took a fantastic fourth place. Repsol Honda’s Dani Pedrosa crossed the finish line ahead of fellow Spaniard Jorge Lorenzo. And after recovering from arm-pump surgery LCR Honda’s Stefan Bradl managed seventh, with Ducati’s Andrea Dovizioso just behind in eighth.

NGM Forward Racings Aleix Espargaro finished ninth with Monster Tech3 Yamaha rider Bradley Smith rounding out the top ten.

World Championship Standings are as follows –
1. Marc Marquez – 125 Points.
2. Dani Pedrosa – 83 Points.
