Marc Marquez led the way as free practice got underway at the Silverstone circuit in Great Britain with Andrea Dovzioso in second and in third the last race winner Dani Pedrosa.
Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi took fourth with team-mate Jorge Lorenzo in fifth, Pol Espargaro set the sixth fastest time on his Tech3 Yamaha machine. LCR Honda rider Stefan Bradl was just behind with home rider Bradley Smith taking eighth, Pramac’s Andrea Iannone in ninth. NGM Forward Racings Alex Espargaro was tenth. By Laura Turner
