Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo took his first MotoGP pole position of the 2014 season at the Misano circuit in San Marino.
The Spaniard will hope to take his fourth win at the circuit during tomorrow’s race. Pramac Racings Andrea Iannone will start from second with Lorenzo’s Yamaha team-mate Valentino Rossi.
In fourth current title leader Repsol Honda’s Marc Marquez with team-mate Dani Pedrosa just behind, completing the second row was Andrea Dovizioso on his Ducati machine. The Espargaro brothers will be starting from the third row with Pol on his Tech3 Yamaha managing to out qualify older brother Aleix, while elsewhere Bradley Smith set the ninth fastest time. LCR Honda rider Stefan Bradl qualified tenth. By Laura Turner
