Espargaro rules the day at MotoGP Sachsenring

Track Action (photo by Motogp)NGM Forward racings Aleix Espargaro ruled the track as free practice got underway at the Sachsenring circuit in Germany.

After suffering a heavy crash earlier on in FP1, current title leader Marc Marquez ended the session just behind fellow Spaniard Espargaroin second place. Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo took third.

LCR Honda’s Stefan Bradl finished fourth fastest with GO&FUN Honda Gresini’s Alvaro Bautista in fifth. After announcing his new two-year contract deal with Yamaha earlier this week,which will see the Italian remain in MotoGP for the next two years. Valentino Rossi was sixth fastest overall during todays practice.

Pramac Racings Andrea Iannone and Monster Tech3 Yamaha’s Pol Espargaro followed on behind the nine-time world champion. Ducati’s Andrea Dovizioso was ninth quickest and Repsol Honda’s Dani Pedrosa rounded out the top ten.  By Laura Turner
