After a rainy qualifying session leading to a mixed-up grid, the teams were hoping for a dry race – even if most fans watching at home were praying for rain to add an extra bit of excitement to proceedings.
As qualifying got underway in a drizzly Montreal, it was anyone’s guess as to who would be the fastest at the end of Q3.
Fernando Alonso set the fastest time of the session during FP2, closely followed by Lewis Hamilton in the Mercedes.
Force India’s Paul di Resta topped the leader board today in the last few seconds of a rain-affected FP1 at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve.
